This program's focus is skill development, and is not competition based. For skiers aged 4-14, and skiers of all abilities. |This program develops all-mountain skills in a non-competitive environment focusing on SAFETY, FUN and LEARNING while building friendships and confidence for lifelong fun on the slopes. Skiers are grouped according to age and ability and are coached by PSIA trained and qualified ski instructors (participants choose Friday or Sunday program).

Through Northern Michigan Ski Academy (NMSA), young skiers will be introduced to the fundamentals of ski racing and gate training. This program focuses on developing racing skills, technical skills and improving overall ski techniques. Wednesday and Friday night training sessions occur both at Boyne Mountain and at Boyne Highlands. On Sundays during the season slalom and/or giant slalom races are held, with medals awarded in each age group, and racers earn points to qualify for the Welborn Cup, Northern Michigan's Junior Ski Club Championship, held on March 3. Participants must be at ease skiing most of our trails and be able to load, ride, and unload the chairlift independently. Skiers are grouped by age and are led by qualified trained coaches.
This program's focus is dynamic skiing development, and is competition based. For skiers aged 6+, and skiers of an intermediate+ ability. |This program (formerly Boyne Flyers) starts athletes out focusing on a solid base of proper free skiing technique in all conditions, and on all types of terrain. Utilizing a progressive curriculum, our athletes develop the proper skills to gain a high level of proficiency, giving them the foundation they can then take into the race course. Skiers are grouped according to age and ability and are coached by USSA trained/certified ski instructors. Participants must be at ease skiing all of our trails and be able to load, ride, and unload the chairlift independently. Highlands Alpine Team membership includes Holiday Camp.

For skiers aged 11+, and skiers of an advanced ability. |For those with a love of competition and a need for speed, we have cultivated a high performance training program: the Highlands Race Team (formerly Team Elite). The mission of this program is to offer a premier program for building and perfecting a solid foundation in skiing and racing fundamentals in a fun and safe environment. This class of great skiers takes it to the next level, pushing their boundaries in tactical focus, mental strength, and physical endurance. Skiers are grouped according to age and ability and are coached by USSA trained/certified ski instructors. Highlands Race Team membership includes Holiday Camp.
